Growing up in America, Marlena always wondered what it was like for her ancestors to live in Italy. She finally had the chance to experience this first hand when her parents took her to Positano for her college graduation present. When swimming in the Amalfi coast, Marlena found an abundant amount of sea glass. She instantly bought goggles and a snorkel, and spent hours searching for treasure. As a California beach bum, she was fascinated with the idea of starting a collection. She had brought all of it home and made jewelry for herself with the broken glass. With the amount she had, she soon realized that she could start a business in which she could do what she loved and give women jewelry pieces that were classy but beachy.

My late uncle loved collecting sea glass. His email address was brokenseaglass@******.com. He told me that every person is like sea glass, broken in some way, but has a story to tell. This has inspired not only my website name, but my love for collecting sea glass.
